At Anglicare Southern Queensland, we are committed to providing quality care and support to our elderly population, enabling them to live independently in their own homes. We are seeking dedicated Aged Care Support Specialists to join our Home and Community Service team in Townsville.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Personal Care: Assist clients with daily hygiene and grooming needs, promoting their overall well-being and dignity.
  • Medication Management: Support clients in taking their medications as prescribed, ensuring their health and safety.
  • Transportation Services: Facilitate clients' attendance at appointments and social events, providing them with the opportunity to engage with their community.
  • Domestic Assistance: Provide help with light housekeeping and meal preparation, enabling clients to maintain their independence.
  • Social Engagement: Encourage participation in activities to promote mental and emotional well-being, fostering a sense of connection and community.

We are looking for individuals who are dedicated, reliable, and possess a genuine passion for helping others. The ideal candidate will exhibit:

  • Empathy and Compassion: A deep understanding of the needs of older adults and a commitment to providing person-centered care.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to engage effectively with clients and their families, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
  • Organisational Skills: Proficiency in managing time and supporting clients with their daily routines, promoting efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: A willingness to accommodate varying client needs and preferences, providing tailored support and care.

The successful candidate will hold a Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability or equivalent, and possess a current National Police Certificate. A current driver's licence and own reliable vehicle are also essential. Additionally, immunisation against Tetanus & Hepatitis B is required. Completion of Assist clients with medication and Recognise healthy body systems is also necessary. We offer a competitive salary of $32.73 - $40.91 per hour, 11% Super, and a range of benefits including Salary Packaging, Employee Discounts, and 6% Bupa Health Insurance Discount.
