Energy Market Specialist Role

We are seeking a skilled Energy Market Specialist to join our team. This role will focus on developing renewable energy options and managing construction projects, ensuring our assets operate efficiently.

This position is part of a new team expansion, reporting to the Head of Customer and Energy Markets.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Managing large datasets using various data software and coding packages.
  • Analyzing revenue and providing input into trading strategy, including dispatch offer pricing.
  • Supporting secondary market hedging and developing relationships with potential offtake customers.
  • Identifying customers and developing products that deliver value for shareholders.
  • Procuring long-term price forecasts for green products and energy markets.

Requirements for this role include:

  • A minimum degree in Science, IT (data science), Commerce, Economics, or Engineering.
  • Data analysis experience in energy market operations and compliance, asset operations, or asset management.
  • Working knowledge of the National Energy Market or similar wholesale spot markets with high-frequency operational and bidding data.
  • Strong Excel skills, including VBA macro-writing, SQL, and other data base management/coding languages.
