About the Role:

As a key member of our operations team at Cement Australia, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our cement manufacturing process.

  • Monitor and control the central control room systems to maintain optimal production levels and ensure employee safety.
  • Continuously monitor plant process lines to identify and address any issues that may impact production or equipment integrity.
  • Collaborate with production process operators and shift team leaders to ensure effective running of the plant and achieve production targets.
  • Act on control system alarms and escalate to plant resources to troubleshoot and maintain plant equipment as required.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Monitor and maintain emissions levels to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform regular equipment inspections and report any potential or actual breakdowns to the maintenance team.
  • Operate production mobile and fixed plant equipment as required to maintain optimal production levels.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a control room operator or equivalent in a cement manufacturing process.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in the cement industry.
  • Certificate-level qualifications or higher in a related area are preferred.
  • Working knowledge of all available production tools, including operating procedures, DCS, and SCADA systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use critical thinking and sound judgment in quick decision-making.
  • Complex problem-solving skills, demonstrated through success in a central control room environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain quality decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
