The role of Principal Engineer, Operations is a key position in the Corporate Systems team.
About the RoleThis is an ongoing full-time opportunity that will be based at Kelvin Grove with a hybrid option available.
As a Principal Engineer, Operations, you will play a leading role in coordinating and delivering key activities and projects aimed at supporting the University's Finance and Human Resources Systems.
You will provide technical leadership and work in partnership with team members, vendor partners, clients, and other IT professionals to translate strategic initiatives and business needs into efficient system management practices and effective operational outcomes.
Responsibilities- Implement, manage, configure, and monitor corporate systems: You will design, implement, and maintain complex systems to meet business requirements.
- Provide technical leadership within project teams or operational environments: As a technical lead, you will provide guidance and expertise to team members to achieve project goals.
- Lead advanced troubleshooting to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex problems: You will use your analytical skills to investigate and resolve technical issues.
- Work with partners to identify client requirements, design and develop solutions to address business and technical requirements: You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Deploy and implement solutions using appropriate technologies: You will design, develop, and deploy software applications to meet business needs.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Information Technology and extensive experience in system administration: You must have a strong foundation in IT principles and significant experience in system administration.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in implementing, managing, configuring, and monitoring corporate systems: You must have hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems.
- Technical leadership experience within project teams or operational environments: You must have experience in providing technical guidance and leadership to team members.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to lead advanced troubleshooting: You must have excellent analytical skills to investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
- Proven ability to work with partners to identify client requirements and design solutions: You must have experience in collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions.
