Job Overview

The role of Grounds and Facilities Officer is a temporary position within a state special school.

This position involves responsibility for day-to-day grounds work, maintenance of swimming pool facilities, support with security duties, moving/arranging furniture, and liaison with internal and external personnel.

  • Maintain lawns and gardens on school grounds, ensuring they are well-manicured and safe for students.
  • Attend to or arrange repairs, including furniture and equipment specific to schools with students with disabilities, to ensure a smooth learning environment.
  • Monitor and maintain water quality in the swimming pool, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Support with security duties such as delivering and collecting mail, parcels, and other goods, banking of school funds, and locking and unlocking buildings.
  • Move and arrange furniture, remove and relocate furniture from room to room, promoting flexibility and adaptability in the workplace.

This role requires a high level of organization, communication, and problem-solving skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
