Job Title: Grounds and Maintenance Attendant

We are seeking a reliable and skilled professional to maintain our grounds and facilities. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a capacity to deliver all requirements of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mowing and whipper-snipper use
  • Weeding and pruning
  • Watering and maintaining the irrigation system
  • Planting, mulching and general gardening
  • Operation and general maintenance of machinery
  • Fence maintenance
  • Maintaining the trees and shrubbery
  • Conducting environmental and habitat safety checks where appropriate
  • Maintaining relevant vehicles and trailers
  • Maintaining the main Hospital building wherever required

Essential Criteria:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Satisfactory level of fitness and wellbeing to safely perform the duties
  • Knowledge and passion for native fauna
  • Previous grounds/maintenance experience
  • Experience operating machinery, such as 4WD's and other vehicles
  • Hold current manual driver's license

Preferred Criteria:

  • Chainsaw and working at heights qualification
  • Previous experience building animal habitats (highly desired)
  • Any other relevant certificates/licenses
  • Cert III or higher in horticulture/land management
  • Education history

  • Any qualifications you may have e.g. first aid
