Job Title: Child Safety Specialist

Job Description

The Office of the Children's Guardian (OCG) is seeking a motivated and resilient professional to join our team as a Child Safety Specialist. As a key member of our Child Safe Organisations Directorate, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children across NSW.

As a Child Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to organisations on implementing the Child Safe Standards. You will also undertake compliance operations, audits, and investigations to identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies for enhanced child safety.

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who can work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including sector representatives, government agencies, and other organisational leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and advice to organisations on implementing the Child Safe Standards
  • Conduct compliance operations, audits, and investigations to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement strategies for enhanced child safety
  • Collaborate with sector representatives, government agencies, and other organisational leaders to promote best practice in child safety

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Government Investigations or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply legislation
  • Experience in conducting compliance operations, audits, and investigations
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
