Reporting directly to the Managing Editor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the narrative of our State by overseeing the editorial direction of four prominent regional papers. Your expertise in gathering and writing original news stories for publication in print and online will keep communities informed and engaged.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively under pressure, and have a keen eye for detail. With a minimum of two years' experience as a reporter, you will bring a strong track record of breaking news stories and creating engaging content that resonates with readers.

As a leader, you will mentor and guide a small team of reporters, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes inclusivity and respect. Your ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize tasks will ensure seamless delivery of high-quality content to our audience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather and write original news stories for publication in print and online.
  • Develop positive relationships with key stakeholders and organizations.
  • Break news stories and create engaging content that resonates with readers.
  • Steer the editorial direction of the regional papers.
  • Interview and photograph subjects confidently and professionally.
  • Lead a small team of reporters.

Requirements:
