Job Title

Environmental Planning and Approvals Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our environmental planning and approvals team. The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise in environmental planning and approvals, with the ability to drive outcomes that create tangible value for our clients.

The role involves supporting clients in environmental approvals and impact assessments for renewable energy, mining infrastructure, and industrial sector projects. This includes leading and managing an approvals and planning team to secure major project approvals for clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading environmental assessment projects and related approvals management in support of ERM clients' capital project delivery
  • Building and managing a high-performance team as a leader and mentor to consultants
  • Identifying emerging talent and working with them to reach their full potential
  • Supporting the growth and development of ERM's Capital Project Delivery service area
  • Driving innovation within the technical community to stay ahead of client needs and differentiate ERM in the market

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in environmental planning and approvals, impact assessment, and land use planning
  • High degree of technical competence in environmental planning and approvals due diligence
  • A solid grasp of key impact assessment and management issues within the renewables, infrastructure, and industrial sectors
  • Authorisation to work in Australia
