Job Title: Transformation Management Specialist

This role involves working closely with program managers to bridge the gap between program operations and business needs.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving business change and improving operational efficiency.

The responsibilities include:

  • Managing program reporting requirements to ensure alignment with sponsoring group interests
  • Ensuring that new capabilities are compatible with benefits realisation
  • Collaborating with the program manager to scope the project and identify necessary aspects for delivering operational benefits
  • Identifying projects contributing to realising benefits and achieving outcomes
  • Defining and tracking benefits and outcomes required of the program
  • Leading activities associated with benefits realisation and ensuring continued accrual of benefits after program completion
  • Establishing and implementing mechanisms for delivering and measuring benefits
  • Leads transition management, ensuring business as usual during transition and changes are effectively integrated into the business

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Proven experience working within Defence programs or projects with understanding of Defence structures and culture
  • Effective marketing and communication skills to sell program vision to staff at all levels
  • Knowledge of relevant management and business change techniques such as business process modelling and re-engineering
  • Detailed knowledge of the business environment and direct business experience including understanding of management structures, politics, and culture of the organisation owning the program
  • Participation in the program should be an integral part of their normal responsibilities to enable changes resulting from the program to be firmly embedded in the organisation

Desirable criteria include:

  • Experience in using a project scheduling tool
  • Some knowledge of relevant management and business change techniques such as business process modelling and re-engineering
