Electrical Systems Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience in supporting grid connection applications, with a strong background in electrical systems engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting electrical system studies and collaborating with the power system modelling team on utility scale solar, wind and energy storage projects.
  • Working closely with project developers, investors, consultants, network service providers and AEMO to understand specific project requirements and resolve any product related modelling or functional issues.
  • Performing electrical system modelling, dynamic and steady-state analysis using PSSE, PSCAD and PowerFactory.
  • Preparing network service provider grid connection application documents and technical reports, interfacing with clients and AEMO for information gathering and technical discussions.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in electrical system studies and record of grid connection applications.
  • Detailed knowledge of National Electricity Rules, electrical system study requirements, AEMO R1 and R2 process for grid connected generators, renewable energy power plant design and application.
  • Proficient in PSSE, PSCAD, with experience in PowerFactory desirable.
  • Proficient in Python coding language, with knowledge of FORTRAN an advantage.
  • Education: Bachelor or higher degree in Electrical Systems Engineering.
  • Collaborative approach, strong communication skills and ability to work independently as well as with remote teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to work as part of a team in problem solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to adapt quickly and work to tight deadlines.
