Palliative Care Consultant Opportunity

This senior clinical nursing position is responsible for leading consultancy in supportive and palliative care at Auburn Hospital, driving quality improvement and evidence-based care initiatives.

Job Description
  • Provide advanced clinical expertise, leadership, and consultancy services within the Supportive & Palliative Care team at Auburn Hospital.
  • Enhance patient care, support clinicians, and lead continuous improvement projects within a dynamic acute care environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Minimum five (5) years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, with at least three (3) years' experience in a specialty field in either Palliative Care, Cancer Care, Advanced or Aged Care Nursing.
  • Postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which you are appointed or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and develop/maintain professional relationships and networks across multiple disciplines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to utilise information technology skills.
  • Ability to assess, plan, initiate, and manage complex cases, work to goals and targets.
