As a Laboratory and Technical Support Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the care and well-being of large agricultural animals.
You will oversee the preparation of practical classes, maintain facilities and equipment at the highest standard, and prioritize animal welfare standards.
This position requires strong practical experience in handling large agricultural animals, as well as effective management skills to ensure the smooth operation of farm facilities and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the health and safety of all animals in your care
- Develop and implement effective strategies for maintaining animal welfare standards
- Manage and maintain facilities and equipment to ensure optimal working conditions
As a Laboratory and Technical Support Advisor, you will have the opportunity to work closely with students, academic staff, and colleagues to deliver high-quality technical support and contribute to the university's commitment to excellence in education and research.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Strong practical experience in handling large agricultural animals
- Effective management skills to ensure the smooth operation of farm facilities and equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, academic staff, and colleagues
- A commitment to upholding animal welfare standards
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current C and MR Class Queensland Driver's Licence
- Working with Children Blue Card
- Q Fever vaccination or proof of immunity
- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends when required
