The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Nurse Manager with the day-to-day operations, clinical outcomes, and management of unit staff. As a clinical leader, you will draw on your knowledge and experience in drug and alcohol, general, and/or mental health to manage the withdrawal or stabilisation of alcohol and/or other drugs.
About the Role: Clinical Addiction Specialist - Withdrawal Unit
The position requires an individual with skills that will enable them to liaise closely with a number of Inpatient and community agencies, clinical and community teams, and external agencies like Victoria Police, Ambulance services, or Primary Care services to ensure best practice care is provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management on a shift-by-shift basis, both clinically and operationally
- Coordinating staff on shift to provide efficient and effective care
- Liaising and escalating issues with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
- Managing withdrawal assessments and providing appropriate management
- Ensuring the psychoeducation group program is run
- Supporting the Nurse Manager to achieve organisational goals, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures, and promoting and cultivating a positive unit culture
- Working as an Acting Nurse Manager as the need arises
Salary: The annual salary for this role is approximately $125,000-$145,000 AUD (estimated), depending on qualifications and experience.
About Monash Health Drug & Alcohol Services:
Our service is affiliated with a hospital-based addiction medicine service and operates under the clinical governance of the Monash Health Drug & Alcohol Services Unit Head. We are a 12-bed, short-stay alcohol, tobacco, and other drug withdrawal unit that admits adult clients who are withdrawing and/or stabilizing from a variety and often combination of substances.
