Job Title: Strategic Projects Manager

Corrections Victoria seeks a strategic leader to head and manage a high-performing team in the implementation of strategic projects within the adult custodial system.

About the Role:
  • The Strategic Projects Manager leads and manages the newly established Strategic Projects team, focused on implementing projects in operational environments and preparing staff for change.
  • This role responds to emerging strategic issues, provides direction, knowledge, and innovative solutions to support the implementation of operational changes and reforms.
  • The role requires strong leadership, communication, influence skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment through expertise and knowledge regarding the custodial environment.
About You:
  • Significant experience in developing and introducing reform projects in complex workplaces is required.
  • Experience in managing or monitoring significant or complex projects, programs, or policy initiatives is also essential.
  • Specialist knowledge of the custodial operational environment, including legislative and compliance obligations, safety, industrial requirements, structured day, and case management, would be advantageous.
Requirements:
  • Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner, Custodial Operations.
  • Leading and managing the Strategic Projects team.
  • Developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of operational and strategic activities relating to strategic reforms.
  • Providing high-quality, authoritative, and strategic advice to the Deputy Commissioner, Custodial Operations, on complex and sensitive issues.
  • Identifying emerging issues and developing creative, innovative, and practical solutions and recommendations.
