Dairy Operations Manager Position

Aurora Dairies is seeking a highly skilled Dairy Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of one of our dairy farms in North Tasmania. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to join our team and contribute to the success of our business.

About the Role

  • Manage and direct a team to achieve positive outcomes, ensuring safe operations and implementing sustainable farming practices.
  • Ensure the highest standards of animal health and welfare by exhibiting sound and accurate judgment.
  • Report on farm plans and inventory, monitor and maintain water and fencing, and operate and maintain plant and equipment.
  • Coordinate contractors for required fertiliser, hay/silage making activities, and implement sustainable farming practices.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Dairy Farm Manager in a large-scale livestock operation.
  • People management skills, reporting and computer skills, and demonstrated ability to lead and direct peers.
  • Reporting and computer skills, demonstrated ability to follow and implement budgeted outcomes to optimise profitability.
  • Pasture-based farming experience, side-by-side and tractor operation skills, and initiative to complete operational tasks that contribute to the team.
