We are an agricultural asset management business with a diverse portfolio of farming enterprises across Victoria and Tasmania. Our team is passionate about growth and expansion, and we're seeking a skilled Farm Production Manager to lead our dairy operations.

This individual will drive results through effective leadership, communication, and mentoring skills. They will work closely with the team to implement short- and long-term business strategies, ensuring optimal production and profitability within the given geographical and seasonal conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute financial and production plans to achieve farm progress against key performance indicators;
  • Maintain compliance with government regulations and industry standards;
  • Evaluate financial statements and provide budget recommendations;
  • Monitor and maintain accurate financial records;
  • Oversee the quality of yield, whether livestock or crops;
  • Coordinate staff rosters, hours, performance, and resolve grievances;
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff members;
  • Manage maintenance and repair of farm buildings, machinery, and equipment;
  • Protect the environment and promote biodiversity;
  • Participate in practical activities such as tractor operation, machinery use, animal care, and field maintenance.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a hands-on leadership role in a dairy farm environment;
  • Sound understanding of grazing and pasture management principles;
  • Ability to work closely with management to develop and implement strategic plans;
  • Current driver's license;
  • Proficient skills in MS Office programs and proven experience with digital farm management software;
  • Demonstrated people management skills;
  • Interest in building and growing your profile in dairy through profit sharing.
