voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley is a luxury boutique hotel situated on an intimate 70-acre estate, ideally positioned at the gateway to the finest vineyards of the Hunter Valley.

To deliver exceptional culinary experiences for our guests, we're looking for a Full Time Commis Chef with a passion for presentation, dedication to flavour and commitment to maintaining high standards throughout their work.

The ideal candidate will have a formal Commercial Cookery Certification, minimum one year experience as a Commis Chef in a hotel kitchen environment, and strong skill base and experience in a la carte, banqueting and buffet food production.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare every meal to meet the highest visual and taste expectations
  • Take ownership of their workstation, ensuring it remains well-organized and efficient
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment that meets local laws and regulations
  • Contribute to washing up and other kitchen duties as required
  • Be flexible and willing to take on additional tasks to support the team's success
Requirements
  • A formal Commercial Cookery Certification
  • Minimum one year experience as a Commis Chef in a hotel kitchen environment
  • Strong skill base and experience in a la carte, banqueting and buffet food production
  • Possess great attention to detail and exceptional teamwork skills
  • A working knowledge and understanding of HACCP procedures
  • A high standard of personal presentation and ongoing commitment to quality
  • Flexibility to work various shifts on a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, public holidays and the festive season period
