Data Quality Management Specialist

The role is to provide strategic leadership in enhancing quality and management of information within Queensland Health statistical data collections.
You will be responsible for overseeing clinical coding, a comprehensive program of data activities with a focus on clinical coding, and providing expert advice on new data quality initiatives, national developments, and policies.
To improve data quality and use, you will collaborate effectively with other departments and health services to establish collaborative partnerships.
For success in this role, you will need:
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in managing clinical coding, data definitions, standards, and data quality improvement.
- High interpersonal skills and team leadership in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
Mandatory requirements include completing a Comprehensive Medical Terminology Course or Challenge Examination and an Introductory ICD-10-AM, ACHI, and ACS Clinical Coding Course (or equivalent).
Key Responsibilities
- Work with us to drive patient safety, quality improvement, and clinical improvement agendas for the Queensland health system.
- Develop and monitor corporate statistical data standards and clinical coding standards.
- Lead information management standards and capacity building.
- Develop and monitor comprehensive programs of statistical data quality improvement.
