
Data Claims Specialist

This position plays a vital role in facilitating compensation, health and care services for eligible clients. As part of our team, you will be responsible for thoroughly reviewing and determining claims, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and providing essential support for serving and ex-serving members and their families.
">The primary objective of this role is to assess client eligibility for compensation and benefits, utilizing medical, health and service record information provided by clients and/or their representatives. This involves making initial assessments, documenting decisions, and forwarding claims to DVA's compensation teams as necessary.
">In addition to assessing client eligibility, you will also be responsible for establishing new client cases, making corrections and updates to existing records, and obtaining and examining medical and other health records. You will work closely with clients, colleagues, and other teams across the organisation to verify and share information, provide updates on claim progress, and offer advice to support effective decision-making.

**Eligibility Criteria**
">Candidates must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS, and all external applicants will be required to undergo a pre-engagement screening check. The role is an initial specified term of up to 18 months, and a merit pool may be created for future vacancies.
