Biomedical Equipment Technician Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Biomedical Equipment Technician. As a key member of our technical support group, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of medical equipment at customer sites.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics or mechanical engineering and excellent communication skills. They will be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, with a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills.

The successful candidate will have experience with maintenance, repair, and calibration of medical devices, as well as proficiency in computer systems and software applications. They will also possess excellent time management skills and be able to work effectively under pressure.

As a Biomedical Equipment Technician, you will conduct regular inspections of medical equipment to identify potential issues and perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed. You will also communicate with clinical staff to ensure that equipment is functioning correctly and provide training on new technologies.

  • Conduct cost-effective maintenance on company-owned medical equipment.
  • Perform operational verification, preventive maintenance, and corrective repair service.
  • Communicate with clinical staff on the topics of equipment features, functionality, etc.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • An associate degree in electronics, mechanical engineering, or biomedical equipment technology.
  • Basic computer skills; understanding of computer networks and equipment interaction.
  • Must hold a current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as emergency off-hours as needed.
