About the Role

Wood Plc is seeking a highly experienced Principal Piping Designer to join its Operations APAC West business in Darwin, Northern Territory.

The successful candidate will act as the focal point Piping Designer on brownfields oil & gas projects, taking responsibility for the design and management of project scopes and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of piping systems for oil and gas projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage project scopes and resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in piping design, including discipline technology and other discipline requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior designers and engineers.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and new technologies.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualified in Engineering or Drafting.
  • Minimum of 15 years piping design experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Minimum 5 years in Principal Design role managing project scopes and resources.
  • Understanding of discipline technology and other discipline requirements.
  • Ability to problem solve effectively.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Competency in E3D CAD systems.
