About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compliance Specialist to join our dynamic Payroll Team within Finance at Kaplan Australia.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in processing payrolls for all our Australian and New Zealand legal entities, ensuring compliance and accuracy across all statutory reporting activities. Working closely with IT, Compliance, Finance, and HR teams, you will be responsible for managing the full payroll cycle, from onboarding to finance journals, alongside the Senior Payroll Officer.

This is an exciting opportunity to support a busy, fast-paced payroll function covering 1,500 employees across 6 Australian and 1 New Zealand fortnightly payrolls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage fortnightly payrolls
  • Ensure new employees, terminations, and any change to employment is accounted for in a timely and accurate manner
  • Liaise with Finance to ensure sufficient balance is provided for disbursement
  • Prepare and lodge Payroll tax returns
  • Year End processing and Income Statement Processing
  • Manage payroll inbox to ensure employees' requests and queries are processed within KPIs
  • Prepare payroll journals after each payroll
  • Reconciliation of clearing accounts
