The role of a Security Officer can be performed in many different sectors and varying roles. This Position Description outlines the general duties in line with specific role types and acts as a guide rather than a comprehensive list of tasks.
About the Role
The position is primarily responsible for providing a security presence whilst remaining alert and focused. You will be part of an enthusiastic, committed and customer-focused team. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all our customers, and you will build strong relationships with your internal stakeholders. In this role, you will:
- Conducting foot patrols ensuring people are safe and buildings are secure;
- Escorting people around the site;
- Ensuring property is locked and unlocked as required;
- Directing and helping people to navigate around the site;
- Writing reports in response to incidents;
- Communicating calmly and clearly with key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Current NT Security License and Driver's license;
- Certificate 2 and/or Certificate 3 in Security Operations;
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods;
- Excellent observational and surveillance skills;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
- Current First Aid Certificate;
- Must have unlimited Australian work rights.
