The Security Officer role can be performed in various sectors and roles. This position description outlines the general duties and serves as a guide.
About the Role
The primary responsibility of a Security Officer is to provide a security presence while remaining alert and focused. You will be part of a committed and customer-focused team, providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct guard patrols, unlock and lock sites, and escort staff and personnel
- Monitor CCTV footage and respond to breach situations
- Direct roving security officers to respond to alarms and take appropriate action
- Use communication methods to report incidents and issues
- Maintain logs and records, complete necessary paperwork, and input data using a computer terminal
Skills & Experience
- Current NT Security License
- NT Driver's License
- Certificate II in Security Operations
- NV1 Clearance or willingness to obtain, with MSS Security facilitating the process
- Australian Citizenship
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and on rotating rosters
