About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planner to join our development assessment team at Toowoomba Regional Council. As a Senior Planner, you will play a key role in shaping the built-form future of our region, working on the assessment of large and/or complex development applications against Council's planning scheme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor junior planners and other para-planner positions
  • Assess and process development applications and prepare associated correspondence and reports
  • Develop and implement planning strategies to achieve Council's goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project delivery
Requirements
  • Relevant degree in Town Planning, Urban or Regional Planning from an Australian University (or a VET assessed equivalent)
  • At least four years' experience in town planning, development assessment or a related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of development assessment legislation in Queensland
