About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our South Queensland region. As an integral member of the team, you will work under the direction of the Senior Finance Business Partner or the Finance Manager to provide proactive support to the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide trusted financial advice to key stakeholders to align business direction and financial strategies.
  • Promptly alert key business risks affecting the business and develop and implement actions to mitigate risks and optimise business performance.
  • Support Project Managers, Project Directors, and other key stakeholders as required, including assistance with pricing/commercial analysis support for project proposals and major projects.
  • Ensure each project in the project management system is set up in accordance with the terms agreed with clients and accurately reflects the work breakdown structure, commercial terms, and billing requirements.
  • Monthly analytical reviews of projects (Budget, Effort, Revenue, Work in Progress (WIP), Accounts Receivables, Project variances) and engaging with Project Managers/Directors and stakeholders for discussion to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • Minimum 5 years in a similar Finance role or in a role with transferable skills.
  • Proven ability to influence, manage, and prioritise across diverse stakeholders.
  • A pragmatic and action-oriented approach with a willingness to get involved at a hands-on level.
  • Strong adherence to professional ethics and confidentiality.
  • Experience in a professional service, construction, or project environment with a thorough understanding of work in progress concepts is highly desirable.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate and present complex information in a clear and concise manner to non-financial audiences.
  • Experience with implementation and embedding new approaches and processes would be viewed favourably.
  • Experience in developing, analysing, and reporting to Budgets and Forecasts.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as BST, financial transaction systems, and data analytics tools such as Planning Analytics (TM1), PowerBi, and a high level of competency in MS Office applications.
