Job Title:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Revenue Services Manager to join our organisation as the Team Leader of Revenue Services.

This role will lead the revenue services team to ensure accuracy and effective management of rates, special charges and receipting. You will be responsible for leading the team to achieve high performance and continuous improvement, while meeting regulatory timeframes/requirements associated with the revenue and debt.

About the Role:

  • This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership role in our organisation, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the revenue services team.
  • You will be responsible for overseeing the supplementary valuation process, including liaising with the Valuer-General Victoria and property related processes and tasks.
  • You will also be responsible for ensuring all rates notices are generated and sent out in accordance with published service level agreements and Council Policy.
  • Actively ensuring Council's revenue administration policies are adhered to; rates are accurately generated, and property and rates records accurately maintained.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a revenue and rates environment within Local Government or tertiary qualifications in business or accounting with experience in revenue offices
  • Proven leadership experience and the ability to motivate, develop and mentor individuals and a team
  • High level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to comfortably interact with internal and external customers
  • An effective team player, with the ability to work cooperatively and positively in a small team dealing with sensitive and confidential information
  • A strong commitment to customer service

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all rates notices are generated and sent out in accordance with published service level agreements and Council Policy
  • Oversee the supplementary valuation process, including liaising with the Valuer-General Victoria and property related processes and tasks
  • Oversee debt recovery action in accordance with Council's Hardship Policy to ensure the efficient and effective collection of rates and charges
  • Ensure communication and consultation with internal and external customers and stakeholders is maintained at the highest level
