Environmental Approvals Specialist\helpers>

This role involves supporting the development of large scale renewable energy projects and driving forward decarbonization efforts.

\helpers>Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead environmental approvals for renewable energy and infrastructure sectors, covering Commonwealth, State, and local jurisdictions as applicable.
  • Collaborate with national and global practitioners to execute projects, participating on teams composed of multi-disciplinary professionals worldwide.
  • Develop technical skills, project experience, and consulting expertise.
  • Contribute to proposal development, including technical scopes and cost estimates in accordance with company policies.
  • Direct and monitor project management activities related to projects, including task delegation and direction, subcontractor management, health & safety protocol management, monitoring of commercial performance, quality review of deliverables, and interaction with clients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental planning or science, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of relevant industry experience, including environmental approvals/permitting and/or management. Consulting experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with and understanding of environmental/planning approvals processes applicable to QLD projects, including knowledge of the Planning Act 2016, Vegetation Management Act 1999, Nature Conservation Act 1992, and the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, and affiliated regulator guidance.
  • Strong knowledge of project management and experience working as part of an integrated team.
  • Critical thinking skills – synthesizing large amounts of data into meaningful outcomes.
  • Excellent report writing, data collation, and management/presentation skills.
  • Motivated to proactively contribute to a team environment, share knowledge, skills, and ideas.
