Renewable Energy Project Developer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Renewable Energy Project Developer to join our team in accelerating the growth of renewable energy projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the origination and early-stage development of renewable energy projects by providing support in site identification, screening, land access agreements, grid connection solutions, and early-stage planning processes.

Key responsibilities will include working with the Head of Origination to progress projects from site identification through to feasibility/planning studies, supporting members of the technical team to develop layouts throughout the development process, and consulting with landowners and negotiating landowner agreements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project development, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to maintain effective relationships across diverse stakeholders. A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as a project development officer, renewable developer, or consultant is required, along with a tertiary qualification in a related field such as Renewable Energy, Planning, Environment, Geography, Business, Law, Engineering, or Science.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the origination and early-stage development of renewable energy projects
  • Contribute to site identification, screening, land access agreements, and grid connection solutions
  • Collaborate with the technical team to develop project layouts and provide technical information
  • Consult with landowners, negotiate landowner agreements, and manage external consultants
  • Support stakeholder consultation and statutory applications for project development
  • Provide on-ground support for project needs across environmental approvals, stakeholders, and land access functions
  • Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams to understand project requirements and objectives

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in project development, renewable energy, or a related field
  • Tertiary qualification in a related field (e.g., Renewable Energy, Planning, Environment, Geography, Business, Law, Engineering, or Science)
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships across diverse stakeholders
  • Proficient communication and written skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and GIS software
