Job Title: Employment Support Specialist
At AYS, we are dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their employment goals. Our personalized support focuses on building skills, exploring job opportunities, and preparing participants for the workforce.
About The Role
As an enthusiastic and compassionate Employment Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting participants in working towards and achieving their employment-related goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to participants in various employment-related activities.
- Assist participants with on-the-job training and building capacity around work skills.
- Explore employment options and assist participants in preparing for work life.
- Support participants with travel training, including navigating public transport.
- Help participants with resume and cover letter writing and practicing for mock interviews.
- Assist in exploring and securing volunteering opportunities as a pathway to employment.
- Collaborate with the Employment Coordinator to develop and implement personalized support plans for each participant.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous relevant experience, preferably in supporting individuals with disabilities or in an employment services environment.
- Valid Australian Drivers License.
- Working with Children Check.
- NDIS Workers Screening Check.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for making a positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities.
