Job Opportunity

The Health and Safety Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of work health and safety programs, injury management, and return-to-work processes at our manufacturing facilities. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.

You will contribute to the success of our organization by:

  1. Implementing and monitoring the Opal HSMS at our sites.
  2. Implementing the Opal H&S strategy at our specified sites.
  3. Ensuring governance and assurance, including regulatory compliance and internal reporting.
  4. Ensuring compliance with internal and external regulatory and system requirements.
  5. Supporting workers' compensation and health and wellbeing processes.
  6. Supporting health and safety training needs of the allocated business unit.

For this role, we expect you to have:

  1. Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety preferred.
  2. Strong regulatory knowledge specific to manufacturing environments.
  3. In-depth knowledge of health and safety management systems.
  4. Proven record of success within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  5. Proven experience in dealing with and managing regulators.
  6. Experience in driving a culture of continuous improvement.
  7. Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
