Structural Design Engineer Opportunity

A leading national manufacturer is seeking a skilled Structural Design Engineer to join their team in Brisbane. This role offers a unique blend of technical design and product development in a hands-on environment.

About the Role:

This position is focused on product development, testing, research, and engineering design. You will create technical and marketing materials to support both internal teams and external clients. As part of the technical team, you will oversee in-house and external testing to ensure products comply with Australian Standards across structural, fire, acoustic, thermal, and weatherproofing areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed structural engineering calculations to ensure compliance with standards
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation such as specifications, drawings, and test reports
  • Drive new product development from concept to production, actively participating in research, testing, and design
  • Oversee in-house and external testing, ensuring products meet Australian Standards for structural integrity, fire resistance, acoustics, thermal efficiency, and weatherproofing
  • Create engaging technical and marketing materials to support diverse stakeholders and promote innovative products
  • Manage prototype development and conduct thorough testing to validate designs

Requirements:

  • Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • Hands-on experience in design calculations and proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Prior experience working in a Manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of Australian standards and construction codes
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a proven ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines
  • Excellent time management and collaboration skills

Desirable:

  • Fire engineering qualifications or experience
  • Experience working in NATA-accredited structural or fire labs, with a understanding of testing protocols
