ICU Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated ICU Specialist to join our team.

The ICU Specialist will be allocated clinical shifts on a roster including day and night shifts.

As a member of the ICU medical team, you will participate in the management of critically ill patients in the ICU or on outreach service under the direct or indirect supervision of intensive care senior medical staff.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Patient assessment and documentation in patient records
  • Preparation of discharge summaries
  • Ordering and reviewing investigations
  • Performing ICU procedures such as line insertion
  • Communicating with other specialty teams and patients' family members

You are expected to participate in assessing patients, formulating a management plan, managing uncomplicated airways, inserting central venous and arterial lines, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation under the supervision of a more senior member of the intensive care team.

Further Responsibilities:

  • Participating in trauma calls
  • Attending emergencies on the wards as a member of the hospital-based clinical emergency response system (CERS)
  • Reviewing patients referred to ICU from wards, ED, and recovery unit
