The Opportunity


This mid-senior role involves leading multiple manufacturing projects from conception to delivery, ensuring timely completion within budget. This position offers the opportunity to work in various industries, collaborating with clients, engineers, and production teams to deliver quality electrical infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects through the entire engineering lifecycle.
  • Review detailed electrical engineering designs for switchboards, kiosks, switchrooms and distribution boards.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring critical milestones are met.
  • Monitor progress, proactively resolving delays or issues.
  • Liaise closely with the production team to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Provide technical input during design and manufacturing stages.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards and client specifications.
  • Source equipment and materials using a best product-best price approach.
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
  • Oversee contracts administration and manage variations.
  • Control costs, monitor project expenses and conduct accurate financial forecasting.
  • Report regularly to management on project status and profitability.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, consultants and suppliers.
  • Represent the business in project meetings, site visits and technical discussions.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively throughout the project lifecycle.

About You


To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • Proven experience in managing projects within the switchboard, electrical manufacturing or related engineering sector.
  • A strong understanding of electrical switchboard design, manufacturing and installation processes.
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards relevant to electrical switchboards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing clients and internal teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience managing project budgets.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills


  • Degree or trade qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification is advantageous.
  • Experience with ERP or project management software.
  • Previous exposure to industries such as water, mining, industrial or commercial projects.
