Electrical Project Manager – Commercial

Take the lead on high-profile commercial projects with a growing industry leader.

Power Up Electrical Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our expanding construction division. This is a full-time leadership role, responsible for delivering complex commercial electrical projects across South East Queensland — ensuring jobs are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

We deliver a wide range of commercial electrical services to high-profile clients, with a strong reputation for quality, safety, and reliability.


About the Role

This position offers long-term stability, strong career progression, and the chance to take ownership of major projects within a supportive leadership structure.

You'll oversee projects from contract award through to handover, coordinating directly with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Take full responsibility for assigned projects, reporting directly to the QLD State Manager.
  • Manage project budgets, financial performance, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Coordinate project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Lead project teams, including site supervisors, subcontractors, and apprentices.
  • Conduct and review take-offs, variations, and progress claims.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and quality management systems.
  • Provide proactive client communication, building strong ongoing relationships.
  • Chair project meetings, toolbox talks, and oversee site-based performance reviews.
  • Deliver projects to specification, on time, and to the highest safety standards.

About You

You're an experienced electrical project manager with a strong background in commercial works, capable of balancing operational control with big-picture project outcomes.

We're looking for:

  • Proven experience managing large-scale commercial electrical projects from $250k - $2m.
  • Ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors effectively.
  • Strong commercial and contract administration knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Sound understanding of AS/NZS electrical standards, WHS, and environmental compliance.
  • Confidence in client liaison and stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency with project management software (Procore, SimPRO, or similar highly regarded).
