We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our UniLodge & Essence team located at our Head Office in Brisbane CBD. As a key member of our Finance Department, you will be responsible for the preparation of management accounts for Australian and New Zealand properties under UniLodge & Essence management.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting: Prepare month-end management accounts for properties, including income journals, bank reconciliations, pre-payments & accruals, profit and loss statements, balance sheet, GST and cash flow statements.
- Variance Analysis: Analyze variances between actuals vs budget and provide commentary.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets and forecasts for properties, including UniLodge & Essence and building owners.
- Year-End Reconciliations: Prepare year-end reconciliations required for the annual audit for both UniLodge & Essence and building owners.
- Inter-Company Reconciliations: Manage inter-company reconciliations and corporate credit card process.
- Account Receivable Management: Manage account receivable invoicing, debtor management, and arrears reporting.
- Ad Hoc Tasks: Perform ad hoc trust receipting or review of trust payments as required.
- Collaboration: Partner with Property Managers and building owners to provide financial and operational support, including financial and operational reviews, process improvements, and monthly/quarterly reporting.
- System Support: Understand and support the Property Management System and provide assistance to property staff when processing end-of-month tasks.
- Qualifications: Commenced or nearing completion of CA/CPA Accreditation.
- Experience: 2-3 years' experience in a similar accounting role.
- Education: Business/Accounting degree.
- Skills: Intermediate Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and vlookups.
- Personal Qualities: Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and self-motivated and proactive behavior.
