Position Overview

The Product Compliance Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the Head of Engineering (Product Development) by ensuring that all products and associated documentation adhere to Australian regulatory and compliance standards. This position will collaborate with the Product Development team to facilitate necessary testing, including electrical safety assessments, in-house evaluations, and third-party laboratory analyses, to guarantee compliance, performance, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that products meet the required Australian regulatory and safety standards through comprehensive testing and certification initiatives.
  • Coordinate with both local and international testing laboratories to manage and supervise third-party testing processes.
  • Prepare submissions for new product approval certifications and registrations, as well as renew existing certifications and registrations.
  • Review new products to create appropriate product labels and safe usage instructions in accordance with relevant standards.
  • Conduct in-house testing and oversee third-party evaluations to confirm that performance and safety criteria are fulfilled.
  • Assist in the development and upkeep of in-house electrical safety testing protocols.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A solid foundation in electrical product testing, complemented by qualifications in electrical engineering.
  • Prior experience with electrical household and lighting products, focusing on product labeling and safety instruction manuals.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong organizational abilities, with a proven track record of effective time management and adherence to deadlines.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on investigating and resolving issues effectively.
  • Analytical skills, with the capacity to read and interpret technical reports.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
