Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our procurement team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing categories across indirect spend, packaging, and raw materials.
Key Responsibilities- Procurement Management: Manage direct reports, obtain quotations from suppliers, and maintain pricing systems and procurement metrics.
- Category Analysis: Analyze RFP, RFO, and tender responses to identify opportunities for cost savings and quality improvements.
- Contract Negotiation: Conduct contract negotiations, implementation, and management in conjunction with the Procurement Manager.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Manage selected supplier relationships to support the Procurement Manager.
- Sample Coordination: Coordinate samples and establish specifications with suppliers to meet marketing and R&D briefs.
- Process Improvement: Identify and evaluate alternate materials or suppliers that may provide quality or cost improvements.
- Communication: Actively communicate with the Marketing, Operations, Quality, and Innovation functions to understand their specific needs and requirements.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills with the capacity to positively influence people and initiate change.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills and effective presentation skills.
- Project Management: Demonstrated project management skills needed to manage and communicate detailed plans.
- Logical Thinking: Strong logical and lateral thinking skills with a demonstrated capacity for innovation.
- Information Management: Capacity to develop, maintain, and effectively utilize information management and reporting systems.
- Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced competency in computer-based communication and information management tools.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the Raw Materials, Packaging, and Indirects categories in the FMCG environment.
