Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Landfill Management Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective management of closed landfills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring Council's closed landfill sites, ensuring they are managed in accordance with relevant policies and procedures, and best-practice principles. You will work closely with the Senior Landfill Remediation Engineer to ensure compliance with EPA regulations and auditor recommendations.

You will undertake regular inspections at closed landfills sites, taking action to resolve issues and maintaining required records. Your knowledge and skills in landfill management, along with your strong administration and communication skills, will be crucial to your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Council's closed landfill sites to ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Senior Landfill Remediation Engineer to ensure compliance with EPA regulations and auditor recommendations.
  • Undertake regular inspections at closed landfills sites, taking action to resolve issues and maintaining required records.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, environmental science/management or a related discipline.
  • Experience in landfill management, including monitoring and inspection.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
  • A current driver's licence is essential.
