Your new role

Reporting to the Landfill and Transfer Station Manager, you'll:
  • Manage a broad portfolio of landfill projects, cell construction and rehabilitation of landfills, establish appropriate project management documentation, control and coordination.
  • Ensure assigned projects are delivered on time, on budget and to specifications set out in project documentation.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to the project team.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with suppliers and contractors.
  • Effectively communicate project issues, approaches and results through the preparation of high-quality briefings and presentations for the superintendent and the superintendent's representative.

What you'll need to succeed

As well as a tertiary qualification in Science, Engineering or another relevant field, you'll have:

  • Demonstrated extensive experience leading and/or contributing to the planning, delivery and communication of complex landfills, cell construction and rehabilitation of landfills or with waste site constructions.
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in project management of complex projects in dynamic operating environments.
  • Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills with demonstrated experience working in landfill and environmental engineering
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to consult meaningfully with stakeholders and the community, prepare high-level briefings and reports for senior leaders and convey technical, specialist and complex concepts
