We are seeking an experienced and skilled Landfill Engineer to join our team in Melbourne. This is a unique opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including landfill cells, leachate and landfill gas capture and treatment systems, and environmental assessments.

This role requires strong technical knowledge and skills in environmental science or engineering, with a focus on landfill management and remediation. The successful candidate will have experience in designing landfill cells and liners, as well as expertise in Vic EPA expectations and requirements for landfill operators.

We are looking for someone who is able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will also have high level understanding of key landfill engineering elements and the ability to lead the preparation of engineering designs and/or environmental risk assessments and monitoring programs.

About the Role
  • Design of landfill cells and liners
  • Design of leachate and landfill gas capture and treatment systems
  • Landfill rehabilitation and development
  • Environmental assessment, risk assessment and monitoring
Key Responsibilities
  1. Developing engineering solutions to environmental issues at and near landfills
  2. Preparing design documentation in conjunction with design experts and drafters
  3. Preparing technical reports and reviewing technical reports from external parties
  4. Mentoring junior staff in the team
Requirements
  • A degree in environmental science or engineering
  • 6-12+ years of professional experience in consulting or a similar industry role
  • Expertise in landfill management and remediation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Australia citizenship or rights to work in Australia
