Residential Youth Worker Job Opportunity

Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them develop life skills? We are seeking dedicated and experienced Residential Youth Workers to join our team.

Koorburra House provides 24 hour supported independent living, emergency respite care and community access support. Our aim is to provide a warm and friendly home environment for clients where they can learn skills needed to live independently and have a full rewarding life.

As a Residential Youth Worker, you will assist clients with personal care needs such as feeding, showering, and getting dressed. You will also accompany clients on outings, help them learn new skills and socialize in their local community, and assist with medication administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing day-to-day assistance and support to clients with disabilities or at risk
  • Helping clients develop life skills and promoting independence
  • Accompanying clients on outings and promoting socialization
  • Assisting with medication administration and meal preparation
  • Creating a safe environment and providing quality care and support for vulnerable young people and children

Requirements:

  • Completed Certificate IV in Individual Support (Disability/Aged Care/Home & Community Care/Youth Work) or higher
  • Current Blue and Yellow Cards
  • Current Driver's License with own reliable vehicle (minimum third party property damage insurance)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Double COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with clients with challenging behaviors
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
