Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and mitigating technical risks to projects using proven systems engineering and assurance approaches throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to commissioning.

The role involves leading verification and validation efforts across the project, ensuring user needs are captured and met through design and related activities. This includes engagement and close coordination with project leadership and stakeholders, including design, construction, software, environmental, and sustainability subject matter experts, to ensure technical compliance and support safety case submissions.

Additionally, the Systems Engineer will facilitate workshops to identify risks and controls to enhance systems safety, RAM, human factors implementation in design and delivery. The generation of technical management plans, systems architecture, configuration, and change management processes will also be a key responsibility.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Australian citizenship and/or eligibility to obtain an Australian Defence security clearance is essential.
  • Bachelor of Engineering/Science degree is required.
  • Experience within regulated industries/frameworks, such as defence, transport, nuclear, energy, pharmaceuticals, is desirable.
  • Systems engineering knowledge and experience is highly regarded.
  • System safety and assurance experience is desirable.
  • Professional body membership, such as Engineers Australia or INCOSE, is highly regarded.
  • Experienced in the application of systems engineering tools, such as DOORS or MBSE tools, is highly regarded.
