Job Title: Director WorkSafe Petroleum Safety and Dangerous Goods

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our WorkSafe Petroleum Safety and Dangerous Goods Directorate. As the Director, you will be responsible for implementing best-practice risk-based compliance programs to the dangerous goods, explosives, major hazard facilities, petroleum safety and geothermal energy industry sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and direct the WorkSafe Petroleum Safety and Dangerous Goods Directorate
  • Implement best-practice risk-based compliance programs
  • Provide advice to the WorkSafe Commissioner and Executive Leadership Group
  • Provide professional leadership to the directorate
  • Lead a team of five Managers and senior staff
Requirements:
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience in leading petroleum or chemical processing operations or inspectorate operations at a senior level
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in relation to work health and safety management in the petroleum industry and/or chemical processing industry, process safety risk assessment
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of work health and safety laws and/or dangerous goods laws
  • Bachelor degree or higher qualification in engineering or science relevant to the role
