The Psychology team operates in various settings and age ranges, utilising a broad range of clinical skills. A Psychologist within the Metabolic team supports consumers in decisions for bariatric surgery, working with other psychologists and dietitians.
The Role: A typical workday may involve case discussions with Nutrition & Dietetics and other Psychologists, assessment of readiness for bariatric surgery, and individual or group interventions to support patients in decisions regarding their metabolic journey.
The Psychologist is a valued member of the Allied Health Psychology Team. The psychology team is small but experienced, with a broad range of treatment modalities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop effective intervention plans to support consumers in decisions for bariatric surgery
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with consumers, families, and community services to promote health and well-being
