Responsibilities- Provide psychological services including evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions to patients of the Allied Health Metabolic Clinic at Launceston General Hospital, including inpatient and outpatient services (excluding Mental Health Services).
- Work with Nutrition & Dietetics and other psychologists to support consumers in decision-making for bariatric surgery.
- Assess readiness for bariatric surgery and deliver individual or group interventions to support patients in decisions regarding their metabolic journey.
- Collaborate as part of the Hospitals North Allied Health Psychology Team, contributing to a culture aligned with CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence).
- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Area of Practice Endorsement where required (e.g., Health Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, etc.).
- Registration/licences must remain current and valid at all times.
- Significant experience in complex medical environments providing psychological services for metabolic/bariatric patients.
- Endorsement by the Psychology Board of Australia as a Health Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Neuropsychologist.
- Postgraduate degree in Health Psychology, Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology.
