Job Description

This position supports the site's EHS Manager in providing environmental, health, and safety services. The individual will assist with coordinating EHS activities, establishing objectives and targets, internal reporting, regulatory communication, and ensuring documentation is available in local languages.

The role involves ensuring accurate EHS reporting, closing findings from MESH and regulatory agencies, supporting training completion, engaging with public and government authorities, and fostering a strong EHS culture across the site.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in achieving site EHS targets and objectives, supporting strategic initiatives.
  2. Conduct risk assessments to identify hazards and environmental impacts, contributing to target setting.
  3. Identify leading and lagging indicators to monitor performance.
  4. Support the creation of EHS goals and activity-based objectives to promote EHS culture and compliance.
  5. Assist in the assignment and training of MESH element champions.
  6. Promote a zero-incident safety culture.
  7. Facilitate EHS engagement through teams and committees.
  8. Work with MESH champions to evaluate compliance with regulations annually.
  9. Pursue third-party recognition for EHS programs.
  10. Utilize EHS data systems like MESH Prism and Benchmark for analysis.
  11. Maintain training matrices and ensure completion of training.
  12. Ensure operational controls are in place and effective, resolving EHS action items timely.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Understanding of EHS requirements at various levels.
  • Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
  • Supportive of managerial initiatives and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in EHS program management and employee training.
  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
  • Professional certifications (preferred): Certified Safety Professional, Industrial Hygienist, etc.
  • Proficiency in English.
