Safety, Health, Environment and Training (SHET) Advisor required for South Walker Creek Mine | Near Mackay | B2B 8/6 roster

We are currently seeking an experienced Safety, Health, Environment and Training (SHET) Advisor to join our Safety team at South Walker Creek mine, located in Coppabella, approximately 1.5 hours from Mackay.

Reporting to the Safety, Health, Environment and Training Superintendent, the ideal candidate will manage multiple complex situations and have a proven track record of positively influencing stakeholders to meet SHET objectives.

This role operates on an 8/6 roster. Camp accommodation is available if required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and develop risk assessments aligned with the project schedule.
  • Develop and oversee a project-specific SHE Monitoring Program based on risk assessments.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of Safety, Health, Environment, and Training Management Plans and advise on improvements.
  • Contribute SHE risk-based content to project communication forums.
  • Conduct high-level ICAM investigations.
  • Enhance workplace safety culture through mutual trust and respect.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a natural ability to engage with the workforce through safety interactions and field leadership activities.

Key Capabilities
  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Mining site experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead risk assessments related to mining operations.
  • Experience in SHE auditing, incident reporting, and investigations.
