About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Virgin Australia. As a key member of our compliance function, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our business operates with absolute integrity and uncompromised ethics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice on complex aspects of the law to operationalise our compliance requirements.
  • Design and implement compliance response plans, create and implement policies, and provide legal advice on a range of projects.
  • Work with our dynamic and experienced team on multifaceted and interesting issues impacting our businesses.
  • Involved in regulatory and legislative reform processes, providing legal advice on law reforms impacting the aviation industry and engagement with key regulators.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years post-admission experience working with an in-house team or reputable law firm.
  • Experience in advising on key regulatory risk areas, including financial services, anti-bribery/anti-corruption, competition, consumer, supply chain due diligence, modern slavery, or cybersecurity.
  • Experience in developing, managing, and maintaining compliance frameworks, including driving program objectives, milestones, metrics, and reporting.
  • Analytical mind and excellent problem-solving skills to interpret complex regulatory obligations and establish solutions for implementation and fast adoption.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
